At Malvern College Hong Kong, we are excited to offer our Forest-Beach School (FBS) programme for pupils in Prep 1 to Prep 3. We believe that access to nature is essential to a child’s well-being and developmental growth. We believe that access to nature and outdoor environments is essential to a child’s well-being and developmental growth, equally important as a conventional classroom setting. Our programme aims to cultivate a range of important characteristics in our young learners: Through regular sessions held in a variety of safe weather conditions, pupils extend their education beyond the confines of traditional classrooms. They engage with the rich and diverse outdoor environment, experiencing exciting and challenging opportunities that contribute to a holistic education. Rooted in child-led learning, our sessions use all five senses to connect with nature. These themes are intricately linked to the IB PYP curriculum, reinforcing classroom concepts through real-world experience. Through games and practical tasks like shelter building and tool handling, pupils develop teamwork, interpersonal skills, and self-esteem in a safe, supervised setting. Join us at our next Malvern Meet to see how we nurture confident, curious, and capable individuals.
