Ms Jacqueline So

Co-founder and Chief Executive of Malvern College International (Asia Pacific)

Ms Jacqueline So

Jacqueline So established a partnership with Malvern College UK in 2011 and has since co-founded Malvern College Qingdao in 2012, Malvern College Chengdu in 2015, Malvern College pre-schools Hong Kong in 2017 and 2019, as well as Malvern College Hong Kong in 2018, collectively over 2,500 pupils from preschool to senior high school age.

She served as the Executive Principal of Malvern College Qingdao, overseeing all aspects of the school’s operations and managing its public relations and communication. Ms So set up a similar school, Malvern College Chengdu, in 2015, deliver internationalised education to Western China. Both graduates from Malvern College have gained admission to prestigious global institutions, including Cambridge, MIT, Imperial College, UCLA, and King’s College London.

Malvern College Pre-Schools Hong Kong have a strong focus on educationally harnessed play-based learning and pioneered forest-beach school in Hong Kong to promote love of nature and independence for the young pupils.

Ms. So led the team to enter a competitive school allocation exercise in 2014 to win the school site next to Science Park for Malvern College Hong Kong, enabling the introduction of British style International Baccalaureate school in Hong Kong. The state-of-art campus has won numerous accolades including the Quality Building Award in 2020.

Prior to her current role, Ms So was the Vice President of Strategy and Development of Laureate Education. She was also a Senior Consultant at McKinsey & Company both in Greater China and the US. Ms So received a BBA in Accounting from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mr Keith Metcalfe

Mr Keith Metcalfe

Mr Keith Metcalfe is the Headmaster of Malvern College UK. He comes to Malvern College from Harrow School where he served as Deputy Head Master, overseeing the day-to-day running of the school, drawing on the various roles he has held during his career including housemaster, departmental head, school inspector with the ISI and coach of various sports, as well as from his experience of running the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme. Mr Metcalfe is happiest working as part of a team and his aim is to lead Malvern College forward in a spirit of community and collaboration. A passionate advocate of the opportunities offered by schools with a strong boarding ethos, he sees Malvern College as a school that affords the time and space in which to nurture the whole person, and where pastoral care is at the centre of all that it does. It is within this environment that young people will achieve their best, both in and out of the classroom. Mr Metcalfe was educated at Monmouth School and Downing College, Cambridge, where he read Geography.

Mr Allan Walker

Mr Allan Walker

Mr Allan Walker is the Commercial Director of Malvern College UK and Director of Malvern College International Schools. Mr Walker is responsible for the general commercial development of Malvern College, and in particular for overseeing the planning and development of Malvern College’s overseas campuses. Prior to joining Malvern in 2009, Mr Walker worked in various commercial positions at Harrow School (UK), and was latterly the Business Manager of Harrow School Enterprises Limited, the school’s commercial trading arm. Mr Walker holds a Master of Arts degree in Music from the University of Cambridge and is an alumnus of Harrow School.

Mr Samuel Wu

Mr Samuel Wu

Mr Samuel Wu is a Co-founding Executive Director of Malvern College Hong Kong, board member of Malvern College Chengdu, the Executive Director of Tridel Capital Group Limited, a family investment fund, and the Executive Director of Majestic Elite Property Development Limited, a property developer based in Hong Kong. Prior to that, Mr Wu worked in Wing Lung Bank and Citigroup Corporate & Investment Bank where he was involved in mergers & acquisitions, retail & corporate banking and operations. Mr Wu holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and East Asian Studies from New York University, and an Executive MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and HKUST. He is the Vice President of ESF Island School Alumni Association and a Director of Shun Tak Fraternal Association, a school sponsoring body that operates local kindergartens to secondary schools throughout Hong Kong.

Mr Wayne Maher

Mr Wayne Maher

Wayne joined the Malvern College family of schools in January 2016 as part of the founding leadership team at Malvern College Egypt. After eighteen years of teaching and managing in international schools spanning Dubai, China, Hong Kong and Egypt, Wayne joined Malvern College International in August 2023. Wayne’s experience, including a Headship at an all through school, adapts him well to supporting the continued growth and development of Malvern College International and Malvern College campuses around the world. Wayne holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Royal Holloway, University of London.

Mr. Chris Brooke

Mr. Chris Brooke

Mr. Chris Brooke is a Chartered Surveyor with over thirty years of experience in various fields of the property industry. Mr. Brooke is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Link Asset Management Limited, the manager of Link Real Estate Investment Trust. He is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of IBI Group Holdings Limited, as well as an advisor to a number of property technology companies including VationX, Peace, Inc. and Kerb Holdings. He is also the current Chairman of Hong Kong China Rugby. Mr. Brooke is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and was the global President of the institution between 2018 and 2019. He is also a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and the Urban Land Institute.

Mr. Donald Choi

Mr. Donald Choi

Donald possesses over 40 years of experience as architect and developer globally. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Hong Kong, Board Chairperson of the Construction Innovation and Technology Application Centre, President of Hong Kong Institute of Real Estate Administrators, Director of the Hong Kong Design Center, Director of Habitat for Humanity, member of the Council for Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Development, and an Advisor of Our Hong Kong Foundation. He was the CEO of Chinachem Group, Managing Director of the Nan Fung Group, a Director of Foster and Partners, President of Hong Kong Institute of Architects, President of Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design, and a Director of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation.

Dr. Ying De Guo

Dr. Ying De Guo

Dr. Guo was formerly the Head of Chinese Language of Beijing Normal University. Dr. Guo has published over 20 books and over 200 academic journals on various research topics around Ming and Qing Dynasty Literature and Culture, which he has won numerous awards from his contributions in education. He is also the editor of “Literature Legacy” (a reputable Chinese Literature journal), and Vice Chairman of Chinese Ming Dynasty Arts Association. Dr. Guo is involved in many academic exchange activities as visiting professors in different reputable universities around the world.

Mr. Emmanuel Kao

Mr. Emmanuel Kao

Mr. Emmanuel Kao is a Solicitor of the High Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Supreme Court of England and Wales and the Supreme Court of Victoria (Australia). Mr. Kao has been actively involved as School Supervisor in several kindergartens and primary schools in Hong Kong for more than 30 years. He is also an active member in different government committees of public hospitals in Hong Kong.

Ms. Elizabeth Law is the Managing Director of Law & Partners CPA limited. Ms. Law has been serving the community for many years. She is also actively involved in the various Government, charitable and educational organizations. She was awarded the Medal of Honour and appointed a Justice of the Peace by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Dr. Rance Lee

Dr. Rance Lee

Professor Rance Lee was a pioneer in medical and health sociology in Hong Kong, and led many surveys on social issues and medical problems in both Hong Kong and China. As an academic, his services to the community included advising a number of government bodies as well as community organizations. In 1992, Dr Lee was appointed as Non-official Justice of the Peace, was made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in 1997. At CUHK, he was Dean of Social Science, Head of Chung Chi College and Founding Master of Wu Yee Sun College. He was conferred Honorary Fellowship by CUHK in 2010.

Professor Frederick Leung

Professor Frederick Leung

Prof. Leung is Chair Professor and Kintoy Professor in Mathematics Education at the University of Hong Kong, and is currently Chairman of the Board of the Faculty of Education of the University. His expertise is in comparative studies in mathematics education and the influence of culture on mathematics teaching and learning. Prof. Leung is actively involved in the local education community, and he serves as council member in several local schools and tertiary colleges. He is also an Advisor for the Hong Kong Science Museum.

Ms. Louise Penrice

Ms. Louise Penrice

Louise is an experienced educator and former Head of a bilingual school in Switzerland, where she successfully led the school through a change of ownership. Based in Hong Kong, Louise has lived and worked in Europe, Asia and the USA, making her fully aware of the challenges and rewards for both individuals and schools in changing contexts. A graduate of the Co-Active Leadership ProgrammeTM and an International Coach Federation Certified Coach, Louise is an education consultant specialising in leadership development and culture. She supports leaders through group and individual coaching, team culture and leadership programmes and Leadership Masterminds. She is currently a Doctor of Education candidate at the University of Bath, UK. Louise has a strong personal attachment to Malvern College with both her husband and three children being former students of Malvern College, UK.

Mr. Frank Wong

Mr. Frank Wong

Mr. Frank Wong is currently the President (Asia) of Scholastic Inc. Mr. Wong is very experienced in branding building and management. He is currently the Board Chair of Teach for Hong Kong; a board member of the AFS Intercultural Exchanges and a member of the International Council of George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs. Mr. Wong was a former Governor of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.

Mr. Arthur Wu

Mr. Arthur Wu

Mr. Arthur Wu is a qualified solicitor in Hong Kong. He is the Founder and Director of Wings Financial Consortium in Hong Kong, Founder and Director of BE Reinsurance in Hong Kong and the Director of Majestic Elite Property Development Limited. Mr. Wu also serves as adjudicator for the Registration of Persons Tribunal and an active board member for a college and secondary school in Hong Kong.

Mr Michael Wu is currently the Chairman and Managing Director of Hong Kong Maxim's Group. He is also a non-executive Director of Hang Seng Bank Ltd., Hongkong Land Holdings Ltd., Jardine Matheson Ltd. and The Community Chest of Hong Kong.
